When we started Montauk Outfitters we had a decision to make:

Do we source our products from domestic or foreign manufacturers?

While both have their own benefits, we believe the only way to ensure a quality clothing line is to partner with American apparel manufacturers who value craftmanship and attention to detail.  Customers are becoming increasingly conscious about the working standards and the fabric that comprises the clothes they wear.

Working solely with American manufacturers and screen printers we can offer higher caliber products with regulated labor standards – all while supporting local economies.

While all of this comes at a higher cost, we believe the additional value we bring our customers is worth the price.

While some of the raw materials (yarn, t-shirt blanks, marine cordage, etc.) used in our products are sourced from international suppliers, our clothing is manufactured in America.

Each nautical rope belt is hand cut and laid, individually sanded and requires 25 separate steps to complete.  They are all painstakingly made by a southern belt manufacturer that’s been handcrafting belts since 1926.  Our t-shirts and long sleeves are screen printed by a local shop on Long Island, NY using the latest equipment and technology to produce great looking tees.  Founded by small business owners, our headwear producer resides on the West Coast where they decorate each hat with our custom patches and logos.

We’re always looking for ways to increase our community footprint and we’ve found the best way to give you the finest clothing possible is by making American crafted products we know you’ll love.
